Energy-Q 2010 winners!

National Energy-Q 2010

School children across six cities and 200 schools battle it out to win the Energy- Q coveted title. 600 school children from standards VII and VIII participate to put their minds to 5 power packed rounds of quizzing.

Preliminary Round

Written rounds were conducted in every school we sensitized to get the one best team (three members) from each school.

Knockout Round

Inter-school written rounds were conducted in each city. These winning teams move into the All-India quarter finals.

Semi Finals

27 Teams qualifying from the inter-city quarter finals will move into the semi-finals to be conducted on 7th December in Maharashtra Nature Park, Mumbai.

Grand Finale

The Grand Finale was conducted at K.C. College Auditorium on 8th December 2010. Performances were put by Energy Champions from various city schools like Childrens’ Academy, Asha Nagar who performed a dance on energy conservation on ‘Jai Ho’, band performance by Champions from Christ Church School, skit on energy conservation by Champions from Childrens’ Academy, Ashok Nagar, and a poem by Shobhit from Childrens’ Academy, Malad.

Mrs. Grance Mathias, Principal – Queen Mary School shared her experiences as an Energy Mentor and Power Kids’ League students from her school presented a skit. Darpan Mehta from St. Mary’s School, Malad shared his experiences as an Energy Champion.

In the well fought Grand Finale, the four finalists – DAV Public School, Pune, Christ Church School, Mumbai, Ramjas School, New Delhi and St. John the Baptist High School, Mumbai – faced five tough rounds of quizzing by quiz master Alaric Ferns. DAV Public School succeeded in keeping a cool head and emerged Energy-Q Champions 2010! The team consisted of Samyukta Ganguly, Sreyas Samagha and Sankalp Gaur. Mumbai’s Christ Church School came second followed by St, John the Baptist School and Ramjas School from New Delhi. The winning teams were felicitated by Ms. Shalini Singh, Head – Corporate Communication, Tata Power.
