Dear children,

Do you have some ideas and thoughts on how to conserve electricity and energy? Here is a chance to pen them down and make millions of people aware about this issue. The Tata Power Energy Club brings to you an exciting essay competition on energy conservation — Every Watt Counts!

So get going with words of wisdom on saving electricity and energy and help protect our environment and win exciting prizes from the Club!

The Tata Power Energy Club is an energy conservation club that brings to you a first hand realisation of the energy crisis in the country. We believe that you are the decision makers of tomorrow and can help curb energy wastage.

So hurry! Start thinking right away and send in your essays soon. Tata Power will short-list 10 essays and the five best essays in each age group will be awarded prizes and certificates. The selected essays will also be published in the club's newsletter, Energy X-Change, and posted on the Tata Power Energy Club website.

Rules and regulations:

1. The contest begins on December 7 and ends on December 31, 2009. No entries will be accepted after December 31.
2. Only children of Tata employees in the age group of 9-14 years (from class 5, 6, 7 and 8) are eligible.
3. Length of the essay should not exceed 800 words.
4. All essays must have a title.
5. No more than one entry per child can be sent.
6. Entries should be the original work of the child without any assistance from family members or friends.
7. Entries must have the following details mentioned:
   Name of child, age, name of parent and the Tata Company he / she is working with, office address, official email id of the parent and telephone numbers.
8. Entries with incomplete details will be disqualified.
9. Essays will be evaluated by a select panel.
10. Winners will be contacted directly via email by Tata Power.
