- 2 rallies with a participation of 2000 students
- Both rallies culminated with a plastic collection drive and street play
As the nation celebrated Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, Club Enerji, a resource and energy conservation programme by Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power utility, organised two Awareness Rallies in Thane to sensitise locals on the importance of saving water and saying no to plastic.
In two different rallies, an enthusiastic participation was witnessed from 1000 students of Sri Ma Bal Niketan School’s Kopri branch and 2000 from its Patlipada branch who, along with their teachers collected more than 4000 plastic bottles. The rallies which started from the premises of both the schools extended to a radius of 1km radius with students advocating and encouraging people to adopt a better lifestyle.
Post the rally, the students presented a skit through which they urged the masses to adopt an environment- friendly way of living. The students also organised a plastic collective drive where they urged citizens to deposit their plastic waste. The collected waste in turn, was to be handed over to plastic recycling agencies for further processing.
Club Enerji, through its various modules has not only become a holistic movement to save energy and natural resources but also transformed children all around the country into responsible citizens and proactive leaders of the future.
