Club Enerji, Tata Power's school outreach programme, has been extremely successful in sensitizing children at the school level and the public, on the ethos and importance of energy conservation. In line with this commitment, Tata Power’s Club Enerji students from Blue Heaven’s English Medium School, organised an Awareness Rally in Pune today to create social awareness around the importance of conserving natural resources.
The objective of the awareness rally was to educate the residents of Pune about the need for natural resources conservation and the various ways to conserve it. About 120 students and school staff participated in the awareness rally, shouting slogans on the sustainable use of natural resources, thereby sensitizing close to 1000 people. The rally was well received and passed through the busy streets of Kondwa road, from Katraj to Mauli nagar. Before the rally, students came together to prepare banners, placards and posters which depicted various ways of conserving energy and natural resources.

The Club Enerji initiative has been contributing extensively towards a brighter and greener tomorrow by undertaking several successful initiatives. The savings of 17.26 MU of electricity is equivalent to saving 17,200 tonne of CO2 for a year. Tata Power’s Club Enerji has won numerous accolades and has been recognized as a best practice in forums like Learning Mission by the Tata group. A case study has also been developed by IIM Ahmedabad on the programme. Further, it has won a gold at the ABCI awards in the category ‘best communication material’ and bronze for its resource conservation module.

Tata Power started its school outreach programme, "Tata Power Energy Club" in 2007. In 2009, Club Enerji took its next big leap, with the programme turning into a national movement, covering more than 500 schools across Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Belgaum, Jamshedpur and Lonavla and further attained a new milestone of achieving over one million citizens sensitisation and more than one million units energy savings.
