~Sensitises over 2500 individuals on the importance of resource conservation~
Tata Power's nationwide resource and energy conservation movement, 'Club Enerji' has been relentlessly raising awareness on creating a sustainable future. Continuing with its focus on nation building, Tata Power recently conducted interactive educational drives for students in Mumbai.
These drives are aimed at sensitizing students, the decision makers of tomorrow, to become responsible citizens. Furthering the larger cause of educating the society, Club Enerji organized a joint rally for over 230 students from St. Lawrence School, Kandivali (East) and Ryan International School, Kandivali (East) to spread awareness about resource conservation and biodiversity. A street play was also orchestrated on 'Say No to Plastic' that reached out to around 1500 students and parents.
Club Energy extended this drive in Dahisar in collaboration with BMC R East Ward which witnessed over 300 participants. Present at the drive were around 1000 individuals including parents, students and teachers who were sensitised through a presentation on water management and "Say No to Plastic.
Speaking on these drives, Mr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & Managing Director, Tata Powersaid, "We, at Tata Power are determined to strengthen our Club Enerji programme. It is heartwarming to see the enthusiastic participation of schools and our employees. This makes us strive harder to educate the children and promote awareness on energy conservation as they will become the ambassadors of a sustainable future and will further help in spreading the message to the communities at large."
Recognizing the immense value that schools and school children can bring to the initiative, Club Enerji was started in 2007 to propagate efficient usage of energy, and to educate the society on climate change issues. Till date, the movement has been successfully implemented in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Pune, Ajmer, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Belgaum, Lonavala, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.
