Tata Power's Club Enerji organises energy conservation rally in Ahmedabad Feb 23, 2017

Club Enerji, Tata Power's nationwide movement, has witnessed resounding success in spreading the message of conservation of energy and natural resources and instilling moral and civic values among the responsible citizen of the country. The cause has progressively supplemented to the cause of nation building and has helped in conserving energy and build a better and cleaner tomorrow for the future generation. In line with the philosophy, Tata Power’s Club Enerji organized an energy conservation rally with the students of St. Kabir School, Naranpura in Ahmedabad. More than 200 students along with their Principal and the teachers participated in the rally to sensitize 1000 localities including residential colonies, commercial institutions and schools around the vicinity on energy conservation.

The objective of the rally was to spread awareness on the importance of energy conservation and the ways by which we can conserve more energy. The rally sensitized the local people on the various means by which we all can, together, change the way we consume energy. The participating students in the Tata Power Club Enerji rally also helped in spreading the message, that how small steps in our daily life could help in shaping a better and greener future. The rally witnessed the students along with their teachers carrying various banners and placards carrying messages of saving mother earth and energy conservation.

The Club Enerji initiative has been contributing extensively towards a brighter and greener tomorrow by undertaking several successful initiatives. The savings of 17.26 MU of electricity is equivalent to saving 17,200 tonne of CO2 for a year. Tata Power’s Club Enerji has won numerous accolades and has been recognised as a best practice in forums like Learning Mission by the Tata group. A case study has also been done by IIM Ahmedabad on the programme. Further, it has also won the gold at the ABCI awards in the category ‘best communication material’ and bronze for its resource conservation module. Also, Asia Pacific Enterprise Leadership Awards, Singapore, has conferred ‘APELA 2012 - Eco Advocate Award' to Club Enerji.

About Tata Power Club Enerji:
Tata Power started its school outreach programme, "Tata Power Energy Club" in 2007. In 2009, Club Enerji took its next big leap, with the programme turning into a national movement, covering more than 500 schools across Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Belgaum, Jamshedpur and Lonavla and further attained a new milestone of achieving over one million citizens sensitisation and more than one million units energy savings. School children, from Class III to Class IX, are taught the importance of conserving energy through innovative modules which include audiovisuals and power point presentations. Children are imparted energy saving and resource conservation tips during these sessions, usage of which have shown dramatic savings. Club Enerji reached out to more than 12.8 million, collectively saved 17.2 million units of electricity and is present in 11 cities across 500 schools in India.
