School Principal Sensitization - Principals and Mentors Meet 2010

 

 

 

The annual Principals and Mentors Meet was organized on the 12 August 2010 at the Bombay House Auditorium. Nearly 200 schools were invited for the Meet, of which 83 schools were represented by either the Principal or the Energy Mentor. In all, a record 107 school representatives come for the Meet this year.

Mr. Ashish Desai anchored the proceedings, while Mrs. Veena Bakhshi, Chief Educator, welcomed the gathering and also highlighted the need for conserving energy. She also expressed gratitude towards the schools for their support. Ms. Shalini Singh, Head – Corporate Communications, then made a presentation on the role of the Tata Power Energy Club, it’s achievements and the way forward. She also highlighted the targets set for the current year in terms of energy conservation and formally launched the National Energy Savvy School contest, which had 12 schools enrolling for the same.

This was followed up with the launch of the Watts up With Energy book by Mrs. Engineer, Principal - BhaktiVedanta Swami Mission High School, Juhu; Ms. Stella, Mentor - NES National Public School, Mulund; Ms. Maria Da Silva, Mentor - Jamnabai Narsee High School, Juhu.

The representatives of the 43 schools which did exceedingly well in 2009-10 were felicitated with a trophy. Principals and Mentors were given a Certificate of Appreciation for their contribution.

The forum was opened for a Q& A session, which had very enthusiastic response with many of the Principals and Mentors sharing their experiences and initiatives taken by them for conserving energy. It was also a great platform for receiving feedback on various initiatives undertaken by Tata Power Energy Club as well.
